Hello all
New Romney During the evening of 4th March there was a high value burglary to a commercial premises in New Romney but I'm pleased to say that a vehicle was stopped near to Maidstone on the 10th March and two persons have been arrested, the investigation is ongoing so I am unable to comment further at this stage.
Lydd On 26th February between 21:10 and 21:20 there was a theft from Heron's Park, Dengemarsh Road Lydd. If anyone saw a silver Honda CRV SUV type car (old style probably early to mid 2000s) in the Lydd area at that time, and even better have CCTV footage, please let me know by email. It is highly likely that the vehicle's route in and out would have been Robin Hood Lane/Dengemarsh Road.
Yesterday afternoon (14th March) at around 14:45 a vehicle's windscreen was damaged whilst parked in Coronation Square Lydd, if anyone has CCTV in the square please can you review it. I have already reviewed some footage and as a result of that, this is an appeal to the youths who were hanging around in Coronation Square yesterday afternoon to speak with your parents/guardians if you have any information about the person(s) who caused this damage and to contact me please. I will probably be able to identify several youths from the footage that I already have so if you do know anything about what happened you're probably better off being honest and letting me know in confidence along with parents/guardians, thank you.
Dymchurch. Although not crime related, I'd like to bring to the attention of parents with children who attend Dymchurch primary school to park your vehicles responsibly and legally. You MUST NOT park on the yellow zig-zag lines in the turning circle outside of the school during school start and finish times, they are there to stop vehicles parking for the safety of your children. I have been informed of this by the school and have photos of several vehicles that were parked on the lines on Friday during the school finishing time. The council's parking enforcement team have also been made aware and enforcement will be taken by them if this continues.
Lastly thank you to those who came to my surgery at the Assembly Rooms New Romney yesterday morning. For those of you who couldn't make it or weren't aware that it was on, you can still contact me (email preferred please) if you have any issues that you'd like to raise however, if a crime is in progress it's 999 and if it's a crime that doesn't need a police car on blue lights, please report via the Kent Police website online reporting tool or ring 101 as a last resort as I will get to know about what you have reported if it's Marsh related. You can still make me aware though and of course if you have any information with regards to drug dealing, anti-social behaviour etc send me an email and I'll look into it.
Thank you Steve.
